New challenges in Plant Pathology between sustainable crop production and climate change

Dear Colleagues,

we are pleased to announce that the XXIX Congress of the Italian Phytopathological Society (SIPaV) entitled "New challenges in Plant Pathology between sustainable crop production and climate change", will be held in Trento from 9th to 11th September 2024.
The event will be hosted by the Center Agriculture Food Environment (C3A) - University of Trento.


The program will start with a talk focusing on climate change and its impact on meteorology. The following sessions will host the presentations of three prestigious international speakers in different fields of Plant Pathology. Numerous awards will be offered by the SIPaV including: the "Giovanni Scaramuzzi 2024” Award for the best Ph.D. thesis in Plant Pathology, "Best Poster Awards" to three selected posters. SIPaV will also cover the Conference registration fees to 20 distinct young researchers in training.
Details for the participation to the selection of SIPAV fellowships for 20 distinct young researchers in training will be communicated in the second circular.

The SIPaV Members' Assembly will be held on Tuesday 10th September, preceding the social dinner.

SELECTION “BEST ORAL PRESENTATIONS SIPAV 2024”

During the congress, the Scientific Committee will bestow prestigious awards for the best oral presentations by young researchers. Details below:


“SUSTAINABILITY”
Award The Scientific Committee will provide a unique opportunity for professional growth, rewarding three young researchers with vouchers (€150) for purchasing books published by CABI (Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International). Oral presentations will be evaluated based on the originality and effectiveness of communicating the message and on the impact of the work carried out on the sustainability of agri-food production.
“CHALLENGES” Award
The Scientific Committee will provide a unique opportunity for professional growth, rewarding three young researchers with vouchers (€200) for the purchase of books published by Springer. Oral presentations will be evaluated based on the originality and effectiveness of communicating the message and the novelty and impact of the approaches used to address problems in the phytosanitary field.
To select the winners, the Scientific Committee will also evaluate:

  • Scientific content of the presentation
  • Respect the time allotted for the presentation
  • Ability to answer questions
  • Expository ability of the speaker
  • Graphic appearance of the presentation
