There are 56 National Societies as members of ISPP (some countries, including Italy, are represented by two societies). The National Societies (in an alphabetical order) for which the approximate number of members is known are as it follows.


American Phytopathological Society (APS)

Established in 1908, it counts about 5000 Members of which approximately 35% resided outside the United States. It includes 6 Divisions: Caribbean, North Central, Northeastern, Pacific, Potomac and Southern. It publishes the journals Phytobiomes, Phytopathology, Plant Disease, Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions (MPMI) and Plant Health Progress.

British Society for Plant Pathology

Established in 1981, it counts about 650 Members from 55 Countries in all continents except Antarctica. It publishes the journals Plant Pathology, Molecular Plant Pathology and New Disease Reports.

Canadian Phytopathological Society/Société Canadienne de Phytopathologie

Established in 1929, it counts about 350-400 Members. It publishes the journal Canadian Journal of Plant Pathology.

Chinese Society of Plant Pathology (CSPP)

Established in 1929, it counts about 6300 Members in China and abroad (through a special agreement between APS and CSPP, APS members are able to join CSPP at a greatly reduced rate). It publishes the journal Acta Phytopathologica Sinica.

Czech Society for Plant Pathology (CSPP)

Established in 1996, it counts about 80 Members. The journal Plant Protection Sciences is published under the patronage of Czech Academy of Agricultural Science in the Institute of Agricultural Economy and Information.

French Society of Phytopathology/Société Française de Phytopathologie

Established in 1971, it counts about 250 Members.

German Phytomedical Society/Deutsche Phytomedizinische Gesellschaft e.V.

FEstablished in 1949, it counts about 1250 Members. It publishes Journal of Plant Diseases and Protection.

Hellenic (Greek) Phytopathological Society (HPS)

Established in 1976, it counts about 160 Members.

Indian Phytopathological Society

Established in 1947, it counts about 1700 Members. It publishes the journal Indian Phytopathology.

Iranian Phytopathological Society (IPS)

Established in 1962, it counts about 550 Members. It publishes the journal Iranian Journal of Plant Pathology.

Israeli Phytopathological Society (IPS)

Established in 1968.

Italian Association for Plant Protection/Associazione Italiana per la Protezione delle Piante (AIPP)

Established in 1992, it counts about 350 Members.

Japanese Phytopathological Society/Phytopathological Society of Japan (PSJ)

Established in 1916, it counts about 2050 ordinary Members plus about 360 student Members. It includes local divisions: Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Kansai and Kyushu. It publishes the journals Journal of General Plant Pathology (JGPP) and Japanese Journal of Phytopathology.

Korean Society of Plant Pathology (KSPP)

Established in 1984 (originally established as Korean Society of Plant Protection in 1962), it counts about 650-800 Members. It publishes the journal The Plant Pathology Journal.

Royal Netherlands Society of Plant Pathology/Koninklijke Nederlandse Plantenziektekundige Vereniging

Established in 1891, it counts about 600 Members. It publishes the journals European Journal of Plant Pathology (EJPP), formerly The Netherlands Journal of Plant Pathology and Gewasbescherming (Crop Protection).

Nigerian Society for Plant Protection

Established in 1971, it counts about 550-700 Members.

Pakistan Phytopathological Society

Established in 1983, it counts about 100-220 Members. It publishes the journal Pakistan Journal of Phytopathology.

Philippine Phytopathological Society, Inc. (PPS)

Established in 1963, it counts about 1700 Members.

Portuguese Phytopathological Society/Sociedade Portuguesa de Fitopatologia (SPF)

Established in 1995, it counts about 200 Members.

Singaporean Plant Protection Society (Singapore)

Established in 2004, it counts about 16 Members.

Southern African Society for Plant Pathology (SASPP)

Established in 1962, it counts about 250 Members.

Spanish Society for Phytopathology/Sociedad Española de Fitopatología (SEF)

Established in 1981, it counts about 500 Members.

Thai Phytopathological Society (TPPS)

Established in 1979, it counts about 300 Members. It publishes the journal Thai Phytopathology Journal.
